June 17, 2026 (AoE) : OpenReview author registration opens.

June 30, 2026 (AoE) : Paper submission opens.

July 22, 2026 19:59 (AoE) : Abstract deadline.

July 29, 2026 19:59 (AoE) : Full‑paper deadline.

August 1, 2026 19:59 (AoE) : Supplementary material, code, and data deadline.

September 24, 2026 (AoE) : Phase 1 rejection notifications.

October 19‑25, 2026 (AoE) : Author response period.

November 30, 2026 (AoE) : Final acceptance/rejection notifications.

December 15, 2026 19:59 (AoE) : Camera‑ready deadline.

February 16‑23, 2027 (AoE) : AAAI‑27 conference.

Paper and Format Requirements

Technical content: maximum 7 pages.

Main paper PDF: maximum 9 pages (pages 8‑9 reserved for references only).

Reproducibility checklist must be uploaded separately via the designated OpenReview field and does not count toward page limits.

All core methods, primary experiments, and key evidence must be fully presented in the main text.

Anonymity Checks

Author names, affiliations, email addresses, acknowledgments, and funding information must be removed from the manuscript.

Supplementary PDFs, code, and data must also be anonymized.

Pre‑prints and non‑archival workshops are allowed, but the anonymous submission must not contain links to non‑anonymous versions, nor should it mention that the work has been submitted to AAAI‑27.

Self‑citations should use third‑person phrasing; if identity can still be inferred, further anonymization is required.

Violations of anonymity or page‑limit rules can result in immediate desk rejection.

Author Kit Format Red‑lines

Anonymous mode: Load the submission package in LaTeX with \usepackage[submission]{aaai2027}.

Page layout and margins: Do not use the geometry package or any other macro that alters the official US‑Letter double‑column layout, font size, line spacing, or margins.

Links and bookmarks: Packages such as hyperref or navigator that embed hyperlinks or bookmarks are prohibited; the source and final PDF must contain no embedded links.

Image handling: Only .pdf, .png, .jpg (or .gif) are allowed. Images must be cropped outside of LaTeX; commands like \includegraphics[trim=...] or clip must not be used.

PDF output: The PDF must have no page numbers, headers, or footers; all fonts must be embedded and Type 3 fonts are forbidden. Text, formulas, and figures must stay within the column margins.

Compliance and Final Checklist (Commonly Overlooked)

All authors must use the same OpenReview account and associated email.

Every author is expected to join the conference reviewer pool unless an exception is granted.

Each author may submit at most 10 papers across the Main, AI Alignment, and AI for Social Impact tracks.

Highly similar submissions (overlapping co‑authors, identical problem statements, and only minor methodological changes) may be desk‑rejected.

Parallel submissions to other venues must be withdrawn before submitting to AAAI‑27, and cannot be resubmitted elsewhere until the AAAI decision is final.

Work published within two months before the full‑paper deadline is considered concurrent; authors are not required to discuss it in the submission.

Generative AI tools may be used for paper preparation, but AI systems cannot be listed as authors, cannot be cited as primary sources, and their usage must be disclosed according to the policy.

Phase 1 reviews consist of two human reviews and one non‑decision‑making AI review; AI reviews do not assign scores or acceptance recommendations.

Final Submission Checklist

All authors have completed OpenReview registration.

Submission and review tasks use the same OpenReview account and email.

Title, abstract, and TL;DR are the final versions.

One primary research area and up to five secondary areas are selected.

At least one author is assigned as a mandatory reviewer.

Author‑list limits are respected.

Use the official AAAI‑27 Author Kit; the LaTeX source is compiled in submission mode.

Paper is US‑Letter, double‑column, with no geometry modifications.

No page numbers, headers, or footers appear in the PDF.

No embedded hyperlinks or bookmarks (no hyperref or navigator).

Images are only .pdf, .png, or .jpg; no trim or clip commands.

All fonts are embedded and Type 3 fonts are absent.

Text, formulas, and figures stay within column margins.

Reproducibility checklist uploaded separately.

Supplementary PDF, code, and data are anonymized.

Core arguments remain in the main paper, not moved to supplements.

All necessary code, data, and other materials for reproducibility are provided.

Reproducibility instructions are clear enough for reviewers to run and verify results.

File names, ZIP directories, and image metadata do not reveal author identity.

Git history, repository accounts, and external links are anonymized.

Paper, supplementary material, and reproducibility checklist are uploaded to the correct OpenReview fields.

Post‑Acceptance Reminders

Prepare LaTeX or Word source files for the camera‑ready version.

Complete copyright paperwork.

Do not add or remove authors after acceptance.

If the title needs to change, submit a request through the camera‑ready system.

At least one author must register and present the paper at the conference.

The final camera‑ready version must still obey page‑limit and publication requirements, otherwise it may be excluded from the proceedings.

Upload at least one day before the deadline and re‑verify the latest Author Kit and website for any updates.
