AIOps Revolution: Exploring the New Capability Maturity Model for IT Operations

Intelligent Operations (AIOps) applies artificial intelligence technologies such as machine learning and data science to IT operational problems, enhancing and partially replacing core IT operations functions. Gartner describes AIOps as extracting and analyzing the ever‑increasing volume, variety, and velocity of IT data in a loosely coupled, scalable manner to support IT operations management products.

Driven by emerging technologies, AIOps is becoming a future trend for operations and represents a high‑level implementation of enterprise DevOps on the operational side.

On December 24, the 2021 GOLF+ IT New Governance Leadership Forum was held online, focusing on “new governance integrating innovation, digital stability for the long term” and covering themes of “balanced governance building a new tech‑governance ecosystem” and “XOPS innovation leading new operational development pathways”.

During the forum, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology released the evaluation results of AIOps systems and tools. Inspur Cloud’s “Yunze Intelligent Operation Platform” successfully passed the “Excellent” level for its alarm convergence module in the assessment titled “Cloud Computing Intelligent Operations (AIOps) Capability Maturity Model Part 2: System and Tool Technical Requirements”, indicating a leading domestic position.

As a leader of distributed cloud in China, Inspur Cloud aims to be a high‑quality cloud service provider with three core advantages—professional, ecosystem, and trustworthy. It offers full‑stack cloud services covering cloud‑network‑edge integration, cloud‑data‑intelligence integration, and construction‑management‑operation integration, builds a zero‑trust cloud security system, and creates a next‑generation hybrid cloud to support government and enterprise digital transformation.

The Yunze Intelligent Operation Platform, based on customer scenarios and backed by operational services, provides end‑to‑end business service capabilities across cloud, network, and edge. It evolves from resource performance management to an intelligent operation system, leveraging intelligent analysis components, an operation data platform, automation tools, and AI algorithms to continuously improve operational efficiency for governments and enterprises.

In AIOps practice, Inspur Cloud has accumulated substantial experience. It has built a delivery system guided by the PPT methodology—People, Process, Technology—integrating knowledge and products to meet diverse business scenarios, and will continue to strengthen intelligent operation technology to deliver forward‑looking, innovative, and practical services.

Intelligent Operations (AIOps) Capability Maturity Model Introduction

The “Intelligent Operations (AIOps) Capability Maturity Model” series of standards is led by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, co‑created with the Cloud Computing Open Industry Alliance, Efficient Operations Community, BATJ, and major internet, financial, and telecom enterprises. It is the first domestic and international standard for intelligent operations (AIOps) and has been successfully approved by ITU‑T SG13.

Based on Part 2 of the model—System and Tool Technical Requirements—the first batch of assessments opened four quality modules: anomaly detection, fault prediction, alarm convergence, and root cause analysis. Enterprises can choose one or more modules to participate according to their own situations.
