Andrew Ng was born in 1976 in London to a Hong Kong doctor father. He grew up in Hong Kong and Singapore, attended Singapore’s Raffles Institution, earned a B.S. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University in 1997, an M.S. from MIT in 1998, and a Ph.D. from UC Berkeley in 2002 before joining Stanford University.
