Apache Software Foundation Announces New Members Including Apache ECharts PMC Member

Recently, the Apache Software Foundation (ASF) announced its new Apache Member list, which includes Xianzhe, a member of the Apache ECharts Project Management Committee (PMC), who has also joined the Incubator PMC.

Six years ago, Xianzhe joined Baidu through campus recruitment and began working with the ECharts project, officially starting her open-source journey. In 2018, the ECharts project was donated by Baidu to the Apache Software Foundation for incubation. During this process, Xianzhe and all Apache ECharts members learned about ASF's open-source philosophy and applied it to the ECharts project, enabling more external developers to participate in community building. Through collective efforts, the ECharts project completed incubation in January 2021 and became an ASF top-level project. After completing incubation, these accumulated experiences with the Apache Way have enabled Xianzhe to help other projects better adapt to the Apache Way.

In addition to the Apache ECharts project, Xianzhe has also participated in the Apache Local Community Beijing, a regional organization initiated by domestic Apache members. She exchanges and assists with other project contributors, helping more open-source projects understand ASF's experience with open-source projects and adapt according to each project's specific circumstances.

Xianzhe stated: "Becoming an Apache Member is not only an honor for me personally, but also a heavy responsibility. I have always received support from the company's open-source office and help from my direct leaders, and I am very grateful to all friends who have contributed to the Apache ECharts project. This is both recognition of my contributions to open-source projects and the beginning of my helping more projects complete incubation in ASF and better build open-source communities."
