Application Practice of Intelligent Writing Technology in the 58 Community Content Platform

Intelligent writing robots use natural language processing (NLP) techniques to automatically create articles and have been widely applied in areas such as sports event reporting, financial news, weather forecasts, and product attribute descriptions, offering low cost and high efficiency compared to manual writing.

From 2020‑10‑27 to 2020‑11‑17, the 58.com Technical Committee jointly organized a series of sessions on “Big Data and AI Technology Practice” with partners including Ctrip Tech Salon, DataFunTalk, and Tencent Cloud. On 2020‑11‑17, senior AI Lab architect Li Zhong participated online to share “Application Practice of Intelligent Writing Technology in the 58 Community Content Platform”.

The presentation first introduced the current industry landscape of intelligent writing, citing examples such as Southern Metropolis Daily’s XiaoNan writing for weather and train ticket information, Toutiao’s XiaomingBot for automated sports coverage during the 2016 Rio Olympics, Tencent Dreamwriter for financial news, and AI‑driven marketing solutions from Alibaba, JD, and Baidu.

Two mainstream approaches to machine writing were then described: one based on structured data plus templates, and another that performs secondary creation by applying text generation, aggregation, and automatic extraction techniques to existing content.

Finally, the talk detailed the practical application of intelligent writing within the 58 Community content platform. 58.com, as an information‑distribution platform, hosts massive structured data on recruitment, real estate, vehicles, etc., providing abundant material for automated content generation. The system can automatically generate narrative, emotionally‑rich introductions for vehicle, housing, and job listings, making the information more readable.

In addition, the platform encourages user participation by aggregating user comments, job impressions, and interview experiences, classifying and summarizing them so readers can quickly grasp the reputation and feedback of specific professions or companies.
