Introduction

The China Physical Society and Huawei Technology Co., Ltd. have co‑initiated the "China Physical Society‑Huawei MindSpore Quantum Academic Reward Fund" to support researchers in universities and institutes who work on quantum information technology. The fund aims to promote the widespread use of open‑source quantum software, encourage research on quantum computing, and foster talent for the future quantum computing industry.

Funding and Award Plans

Funding program: selected projects receive a pre‑tax grant of 25,000 RMB, freely allocated by the applicant, with a maximum of 24 projects per cycle.

Reward program: after project completion, outstanding results are evaluated by the Technical Management Committee and awarded in three categories:

A+ category: 50,000 RMB, up to 3 projects

A category: 30,000 RMB, up to 5 projects

B category: 10,000 RMB, up to 10 projects

Suggested Research Directions

Quantum simulation: Use quantum computers to solve quantum chemistry, many‑body physics, and related simulation problems.

Quantum machine learning: Develop hybrid quantum‑classical algorithms for machine‑learning tasks.

Quantum optimization algorithms: Apply quantum methods to combinatorial optimization problems such as logistics and traffic routing.

Other: Innovative research in any quantum computing or quantum information area.
