Case Study: Tencent Health's Implementation of AI Code Assistant for Enhanced Development Efficiency

The team achieved 100% coverage with active usage, reaching a code completion generation rate of 39.81%, adoption rate of 31.63%, and active rate of 96.82%, with nearly 40% of team code being written by the AI assistant.

The implementation faced several challenges including initial capability limitations of the AI assistant, bugs during early usage, and the need for sustained engagement tracking. The team addressed these through collaborative problem-solving with the AI provider, phased rollout strategies, and establishing multi-dimensional data metrics for ongoing monitoring.

Key strategies included forming a vanguard team for initial testing, creating feedback mechanisms through bi-weekly meetings, and developing best practices for optimal AI assistant usage. The team also identified common inefficient practices (poor naming conventions, lack of comments, complex logic) and effective techniques (consistent naming, comment-first approach, task decomposition, using built-in commands).

The results showed significant improvements: 18.18% increase in per capita delivered requirements, 41.34% increase in per capita coding lines, and 31.50% reduction in defect rates compared to the previous year. The team's satisfaction score reached 4.8 out of 5.
