CCF‑Alibaba Mama Technology Fund Launch and Large‑Model Forum (May 18, 2024)

CCF and Alibaba Mama jointly launch the "CCF‑Alibaba Mama Technology Fund" to build a global academia‑industry collaboration platform, focusing on next‑generation AI algorithms, models and key technologies.

The fund’s first phase targets large‑model research, offering ten projects across four directions. An online forum will be held on May 18, 2024, 14:00 (Ningbo livestream) where scholars and industry experts will present.

Agenda: opening remarks by CCF and Alibaba Mama, fund announcement, and a keynote by Prof. Zhang Qi (Fudan University) titled “Improving Large‑Model Task Capability”.

Prof. Zhang’s abstract: recent LLMs have achieved strong performance, but raising task‑specific scores from 70 to 90 remains challenging. He will discuss pre‑training, supervised fine‑tuning and reinforcement learning strategies to boost capability.

Other speakers include Wang Liang (Alibaba Mama Algorithm Director) who will introduce the ten research topics, covering e‑commerce search & recommendation, domain‑knowledge‑enhanced generation, and legal‑AI applications.

The event aims to promote frontier research that bridges academic insights with industrial deployment of large models.
