Ctrip Technology Salon: Boosting Test Engineering Efficiency with AI, Automation Platforms, and DevOps
The Ctrip Technology Salon gathered over 250 experts and practitioners from Ctrip, Huawei, NetEase and others to discuss how AI, automated testing platforms, DevOps, and natural‑language testing frameworks can dramatically improve test engineering efficiency and software quality.
On October 19, Ctrip’s Shanghai headquarters hosted a technology salon attended by more than 250 participants, including senior experts from Huawei, NetEase, and Ctrip, focusing on improving test engineering efficiency through AI, automation platforms, and DevOps.
"Ctrip’s Full‑Scenario Automated Testing Platform Construction" – Wang Yaobo (Ctrip) described how Ctrip built a systematic, modular automation testing platform that integrates open‑source collaboration, supports both generic infrastructure and business‑specific test suites, and connects with CI and APM systems to create an end‑to‑end development, quality, and monitoring solution.
"Let Automated Testing Fly – NetEase Airtest Project Engineering Practice" – Long Qiummo (NetEase) introduced the open‑source Airtest Project, its architecture and principles, a multi‑device testing solution, and the device‑cluster management required for large‑scale testing.
"Ctrip MEC Natural Language Testing Framework" – Ren Yuehua (Ctrip) explained how the MEC framework reduced manual testing, achieving over 90% UI automation coverage for international ticketing, improving the test‑to‑dev ratio from 1:2.6 to 1:4.5, cutting integration test cost by 75% and increasing requirement throughput by 30%.
"Ctrip Hotel DevOps Practice" – Wang Xingfu (Ctrip) outlined the adoption of Auto DevOps, integrating a suite of tools for continuous testing and monitoring, and leveraging data analysis to optimize processes and testing strategies, thereby further boosting testing efficiency.
"Intelligent Testing in Industry – Huawei Practice" – Yuan Changyang (Huawei) shared Huawei’s work since 2015 on applying AI to testing, covering problem definition, test automation, and test case design, and highlighted the early stage of intelligent testing and the challenges ahead.
Additional resources such as PPTs and videos are available at the end of the article, and links to past salon sessions on front‑end engineering, data storage, micro‑services, agile practices, and big data/AI are provided.
The salon aims to create a high‑quality technical exchange community in Shanghai by regularly presenting hot topics and real‑world experiences across front‑end, mobile, big data, architecture, and testing domains.
