Deploy ComfyUI + Flux on Alibaba Cloud Function Compute in Minutes

Prerequisites

Alibaba Cloud account with Function Compute (FC) service enabled.

Access to the Function Compute 3.0 console.

Internet connection to download the workflow package.

Deployment Steps

Open the Function Compute console. If this is the first use, create the default role AliyunFcDefaultRole by approving the authorization on the role quick‑create page.

Switch to the Function Compute 3.0 console (top‑right switch button).

In the left navigation choose Applications → Create Application . (If you have never used the Application Center, you can skip this step.)

Select Artificial Intelligence → Workflow AI Image Generation ComfyUI and click Create Immediately . If the option is not visible, ensure you are on the 3.0 console.

On the creation page click Deploy Immediately . Verify that the required permissions are granted and that Function Compute is enabled.

Choose a region close to you (supported regions: Hangzhou, Shanghai, Tokyo, Singapore, Virginia) and keep the default model preset (Fluffy style). Click Create Application .

In the deployment confirmation dialog select the FC billing item, acknowledge the notice, and confirm deployment.

Wait about one minute. When the status changes to Deployment Successful , a domain of the form *.devsapp.net is generated.

Using ComfyUI

Open the generated domain URL in a browser. The first request incurs a cold‑start delay of roughly two minutes; subsequent image generations take about one minute each.

Importing the Example Workflow

Download the workflow package from

and extract workflow.json.

In the ComfyUI UI click the workflow icon on the left, choose Import Workflow , and select the extracted workflow.json.

After the import, click Queue to generate an image using the default prompt.

Protect the generated *.devsapp.net domain; sharing it may incur additional charges.

The domain is provided by the CNCF Sandbox Serverless Devs community for learning and testing only and will be reclaimed after 30 days. Use a custom domain for production workloads.

ComfyUI maintains a persistent WebSocket connection while the page is open, which consumes compute resources. Close the page when not in use; idle sessions are automatically closed after 10 minutes.

Access to external resources such as GitHub or HuggingFace may be restricted in some regions.
