Deploy Moltbot on Alibaba Cloud Lightweight Server in Minutes

Overview

Moltbot (formerly Clawdbot) is a cloud service on Alibaba Cloud that provides the compute resources, large‑model APIs (including more than one hundred Qwen‑series models from the Bailei platform), and messaging integration needed for AI agents. It can be deployed on Alibaba Cloud Lightweight Application Server or on the Shadow Cloud Computer.

Step 1 – Install the Moltbot image

Log in to the Alibaba Cloud console and open the Lightweight Application Server service.

In the server dashboard click Application Image and select the Moltbot image from the list.

Step 2 – Configure Moltbot

In the Bailei Large‑Model Console navigate to Key Management and click Create API‑Key . Copy the generated key.

Return to the Lightweight Application Server console, locate the instance where the Moltbot image was installed, and open Application Details .

Open the firewall settings for the instance and allow inbound traffic on port 18789. Alibaba Cloud provides a one‑click “Allow” button.

In the Moltbot configuration panel paste the Bailei API‑Key, then click the one‑click configuration button to store the key.

Execute the command shown in the panel (e.g., bash /opt/moltbot/scripts/generate_token.sh) to generate an access token for the Moltbot service.

Open the Access‑Control page, click the provided link, and you will be redirected to the Moltbot conversation UI.

Alternative pre‑installed image

The Shadow Cloud Computer service also offers a pre‑installed Moltbot image that includes VS Code, TMUX, DingTalk, WPS and other utilities. The image supports wake‑up via DingTalk or QQ; after importing the image, Moltbot can be started with a single click.
