Enabling the Team Feature in WPS Using TFS: Manual DLL Addition and Registry Editing

With the widespread adoption of the TFS management tool in our department, many users rely on it for project and defect management, making it an essential part of daily work.

After installing TFS, WPS may sometimes lack the "Team" feature, preventing users from editing TFS work items directly within WPS.

Two solutions are provided: manually adding the required DLL and, if that fails, modifying the Windows registry.

Manual DLL addition: Open WPS's Development Tools → COM Add‑ins and check for TFSOfficeAdd-in.dll . If it is missing, add it manually using the path C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Team Foundation Server\12.0\x86\TFSOfficeAdd-in.dll .

If the DLL cannot be added successfully, it may indicate that an older version of WPS was not completely removed. Uninstall WPS, delete residual WPS entries with REGEDIT , restart the computer, and install the latest WPS version (e.g., setup_CN_2052_10.8.0.6058_Professional_VBA_oem_abc ). After installation, the "Team" menu should appear.

Registry editing: Open the Registry Editor, locate the relevant key shown in the screenshots, modify the necessary values, save, and exit.

After saving the changes, restart WPS (preferably as an administrator). Upon relaunch, the "Team" button will be visible in the menu.
