Guangda Bank's Cloud Native PaaS Platform: Enabling FinTech Transformation

Since December 2018, the Cloud Native Technology Practice Alliance (CNBPA) has collected outstanding cloud‑native case studies from various industries, including finance, energy, manufacturing, and real estate. The alliance will showcase these cases to inspire cloud‑native adoption across sectors.

Guangda Bank, guided by national policies like the "13th Five‑Year Plan" for financial industry informatization, aims to modernize its IT architecture through cloud computing, microservices, containers, and DevOps. The bank’s "10T (Technology) and 10B (Business)" strategy focuses on building a distributed PaaS cloud platform (CPAAS) to support digital transformation.

The CPAAS platform, launched in April 2019, provides three environments—development, pre‑production, and production—enabling internet‑scale, microservice‑oriented, and cloud‑native application development. Its innovative value lies in three areas:

Facilitating the shift from traditional to internet‑based architecture using microservices, cloud middleware, and container technologies.

Reducing IT resource and integration costs while boosting development efficiency through flexible container‑based scheduling and higher resource utilization.

Establishing a container‑based CI/CD pipeline that shortens delivery cycles, accelerates response times, and supports agile business innovation.

As a result, the platform has supported projects such as a blockchain BaaS platform, mobile office solutions, and a fund supervision system, serving over 20 applications and more than 2,000 developers. Resource delivery efficiency increased by 52×, enabling minute‑level deployments and underpinning the bank’s goal of becoming a leading wealth‑management institution.
