How 16 Leading Chinese Enterprises Boosted IT Efficiency with the DevOps Maturity Model

In the context of digital transformation, enterprises adopt DevOps to improve IT efficiency. The "R&D Operations Integration (DevOps) Capability Maturity Model" series standards, led by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), provide strong guidance. Leading companies use the model to assess and improve IT capabilities, integrate team resources and talent, and better support business systems.

Companies Assessed

Sixteen enterprises—including Tencent, Baidu, Lenovo, Qunar, Enjoy Travel, Baoxin Software, Huarong Technology, Shenzhou Taiyue, Changjie Tong, SoftStone Power, Beijing Gas, Haifa Baocheng (formerly COSCO Shipping Leasing), Southern Power Grid, and One Wallet—completed DevOps capability maturity evaluations covering 17 assessment items.

Other Industry Enterprises and Project Counts

Baoxin Software – Baowu Industry Chain Ecosystem Data Collaboration Platform

The project supports Baowu's smart steel ecosystem transformation, delivering open, shared, collaborative, intelligent, and innovative platform capabilities. DevOps continuous delivery underpins the ecosystem, achieving an average delivery frequency of 4.87 releases per month per application, 100% automated interface test coverage, over 85% unit test coverage, and a 97% automated deployment success rate.

Huarong Technology – Business Evaluation System 2.0

This system integrates requirement, project, release, and statistical management to streamline the evaluation workflow for non‑performing asset acquisitions, clarifying responsibilities and standardizing processes, thereby enhancing risk control. The DevOps assessment led to process and institutional optimizations, quality improvements across demand, environment, configuration, CI, automated testing, deployment, and metrics, boosting development efficiency and value delivery.

SoftStone Power – iPaaS Technology Middleware Platform

The iPaaS platform provides enterprise‑level rapid application development, construction, and customization based on cloud‑native architecture, offering reusable components and services to accelerate business‑focused development and delivery.

Beijing Gas – Tongzhou Call Center Construction

The intelligent customer service system adopts a “full‑domain, full‑business, full‑function, full‑space” approach, integrating communication channels, enabling cloud‑based, intelligent, and customized digital platforms, improving call‑center efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing service quality.

Haifa Baocheng – Whale Yuanbao Management Platform

Targeting insurance supply‑chain finance, the project demands high timeliness and user experience. DevOps practices built an integrated R&D‑Ops toolchain, breaking down silos and laying a solid foundation for project success.

Chuangjitong – Small‑Business One‑Stop Service Platform

As a subsidiary of Yonyou, the platform offers socialized, personalized, service‑oriented solutions for small enterprises, leveraging SaaS to drive digital transformation and growth.

Baidu – Efficiency Measurement Platform iReport

Baidu’s iReport platform, built on internal experience, aggregates years of software engineering best practices and efficiency improvement methodologies, covering all five assessment scenarios and representing the only platform in the evaluation that spans the full standard set.

Continuous Delivery (Standard 3) Status

Details of continuous delivery compliance across evaluated projects are illustrated in the preceding sections.

Security and Risk (Standard 6) Status

Security and risk compliance information is presented alongside each project description.
