On December 26, 2022, the China Information Communication Research Institute announced the latest batch of DevOps standard evaluation results.

CICC Wealth E‑Space Platform Success

CICC Wealth (China International Capital Corp. Wealth) participated with its E‑Space investment advisory platform project, which passed the Institute’s DevOps Continuous Delivery Level 3 assessment, indicating a leading domestic capability.

To date, CICC Wealth has two projects that have passed DevOps series standard evaluations, including one that passed the DevOps system and tool standard.

Interview Highlights

Xie Baisong (GM, IT Department) expressed gratitude for the experts’ guidance and noted that passing the Level 3 assessment validates the team’s DevOps continuous delivery capability, boosting morale and accelerating further DevOps improvements.

Luochang (IT Planning Director) explained that DevOps integrates development and operations through automation, enabling continuous delivery and deployment, and that the standards provide a benchmark for identifying gaps and adopting best practices.

Deng Yalin (Agile Team Lead) reported that the agile‑DevOps integration shortened iteration cycles by 2‑3 days, reduced static code scan time to 3‑5 minutes, and cut automated test cycles from 1‑3 days to 2‑3 hours, while achieving zero static scan defects and over 50% unit‑test coverage.

Kong Pei (Agile Team Member) described the platform’s architecture: distributed micro‑services designed with domain modeling, a full‑view value stream covering demand, code, build, test, release, and evaluation, supported by a demand board and iteration metrics.

Participants also discussed challenges such as aligning business and technical requirements, breaking silos between development and operations, and handling simultaneous project upgrades, all of which were overcome through deeper understanding of the capability indicators and continuous process refinement.

As of December 26, 2022, the securities industry’s DevOps capability maturity model assessments show the number of enterprises and projects evaluated, with data sourced from the official DevOps assessment website.

DevOps Capability Maturity Model

The model, led by the China Information Communication Research Institute and co‑created with leading internet, financial, and telecom companies, is the first comprehensive DevOps series standard in China and has been adopted by many major enterprises. It was officially concluded as an international standard by ITU‑T in July 2020.

The overall architecture includes processes (agile management, continuous delivery, technical operation), application design, security and risk management, system and tool management, business value management, collaborative development and operation, and continuous testing.
