How Huawei’s Open Cloud Ecosystem Empowers Partners to Build Innovative Solutions

Dear guests and friends, good morning and welcome to Huawei China Ecosystem Partner Conference 2017.

In the keynote "Embracing Public Cloud, Co‑building Cloud Ecosystem," Huawei highlighted three partner types: sales partners, migration service partners, and application development partners, emphasizing quality over quantity and focusing on helping partners become stronger and cloud‑enabled.

The speaker identified four key ways Huawei can support partners:

1. ICT Capability Open Platform (eSDK) – Huawei opened over 5,000 interfaces from 14 products, supporting multiple languages and operating systems, with a community of more than 25,000 registered developers and over 450 joint solutions.

2. Cloud‑based Development Operations Platform 2.0 – An upgraded, cloud‑native platform that simplifies development, testing, deployment, and operation, enabling continuous integration and delivery.

3. Huawei Developers Gathering (HDG) – A series of online and offline events across China that help developers learn to use the open platform and capabilities.

4. OpenLab – Global labs (six first‑level labs) offering remote access, collaborative solution design, and validation, even for cities without a physical lab.

Four illustrative cases were shared:

Case 1 – Smart City : In partnership with Guotai XinDian, a government cloud solution enabled one‑stop services, eliminating queues and allowing rapid application development within two months.

Case 2 – Precision Medicine : WuXi AppTec leveraged Huawei public‑cloud big‑data services to analyze billions of gene sequences in minutes, achieving cost savings and end‑to‑end security.

Case 3 – Guangdong Rural Credit : Using Huawei FusionStage PaaS and micro‑service architecture, the partner rapidly built flexible banking applications for multiple cities, benefiting from cloud elasticity and reduced code.

Case 4 – IoT Water‑Meter Solution : By integrating NB‑IoT chips into traditional water meters, Huawei enabled smart metering for Australian water utilities, cutting costs and preventing flood‑related damage.

In summary, the four pillars—open capability platform, integrated cloud development operations platform, Developers Gathering, and OpenLab—are designed to help partners create valuable, differentiated solutions and strengthen their competitiveness.
