How to Safely Remove the Malicious BetterIntelliJ Crack Plugin

IntelliJ IDEA is a premium Java IDE that many users try to obtain for free, often searching for cracked versions.

One commonly promoted cracked solution is a plugin called BetterIntelliJ , which claims to activate the IDE until the year 2099.

Recently, the plugin was found to contain a serious vulnerability; it was maliciously altered, detected by multiple antivirus programs, and subsequently removed from distribution. JetBrains has officially warned users to stop sharing the plugin and to purchase a legitimate license.

The plugin’s website, BetterIntellij.com, also issued a statement (see image below).

To uninstall BetterIntelliJ from IntelliJ IDEA, follow these steps:

Open File → Settings from the menu bar.

Navigate to Plugins , locate BetterIntelliJ in the installed list, right‑click it, and select Uninstall .

After the uninstallation completes, restart IntelliJ IDEA.
