How to Set Up Phone, SMS, Feishu, DingTalk, WeChat & Email Alerts in Zabbix

Zabbix is an open‑source enterprise‑grade monitoring system that can monitor networks, servers, applications and other resources. Timely alert notifications are crucial, and this guide shows how to configure phone, SMS, Feishu, DingTalk, WeChat and email alerts in Zabbix.

Pre‑conditions

Zabbix version 5 or higher is installed and configured.

Step 1: Import Alert Media Types

In the Zabbix UI, go to Administration → Media types → Import and select the downloaded zbx_SpugPush_mediatypes.yaml file.

Step 2: Choose Zabbix Template on Spug Push Portal

Visit push.spug.cc , go to Template Market → Zabbix Template → Use Template → Configure Template Object .

Step 3: Copy and Save Template ID

After configuring the push object, copy the generated template ID.

Step 4: Configure Alert Users

1. In Zabbix UI, go to Administration → Users → Create user .

2. Set up alert media for the user.

Select the imported media type SpugPush Push Assistant .

Enter the template ID copied in Step 3 as the recipient.

Step 5: Configure Alert Actions

In Zabbix UI, go to Configuration → Actions and click Create action .

Define the action name, conditions, and operations.

Name: Phone SMS Bot Alert

Condition: select the host group you want to monitor.

Operation: send to the user created in Step 4 using the SpugPush channel.

Recovery operation: same user and channel.

Validate Phone, SMS, and Bot Alerts

After completing the configuration, test the alerts:

Open Monitoring → Dashboard in Zabbix.

On a monitored host, run stress -c 8 to generate CPU load.

If CPU usage exceeds 80 %, the action triggers and notifications are sent to the configured phone, SMS, Feishu, DingTalk, WeChat or email.

Check the push assistant platform’s push log for the sent messages.
