How Top Apps Add Smart, Caring Features to Boost User Experience

This article introduces a weekly design column that showcases four practical case studies—Meituan Waimai’s disease‑info cards, Dingdong’s ingredient & nutrition module, SF Express’s privacy‑protecting ID system, and Bawang Tea’s calorie calculator—demonstrating how thoughtful UI/UX can solve real user problems and inspire designers.

How Top Apps Add Smart, Caring Features to Boost User Experience

#01 Introduction

We officially launch the Tuesday Light Sharing column to provide weekly design case studies that help discover hidden, inspiring solutions and spark new ideas.

#02 Case Sharing

1. Meituan Waimai – "I don’t know what medicine to buy, I’ll help you" When users search for a symptom, the app shows a disease‑info card at the top. Clicking the card opens a detail page with educational videos, typical cases, treatment and medication suggestions, and a bottom section for category filtering and purchasing relevant medicines, offering great assistance for users unfamiliar with their condition.

2. Dingdong Maicai – Easy Access to Food Ingredients and Nutrition The product page adds a "Ingredients/Nutrition" module that displays detailed ingredient lists and nutritional values, eliminating the need to search images for this information. Users can expand health encyclopedia entries for unclear ingredients, reducing purchase concerns, and see a three‑level rating (high/medium/low) for each nutrient, supporting healthier buying decisions.

3. SF Express – Send Packages Without Revealing Your Address The mini‑program introduces a "SF ID" feature that lets users create an independent ID for their delivery location. Senders can ship using this ID without seeing the recipient’s address or phone number, protecting privacy while making the process safer and more convenient.

4. Bawang Tea – Calorie‑Counting for Health‑Conscious Users The mini‑program’s homepage offers a "Calorie Calculator" entry that transparently shows the calorie content and ingredients of each drink, helping users who monitor their intake to make informed choices and reduce guilt while enjoying tea.

#03 Closing Remarks

This design sharing session ends here. The cases and insights come from the ZhiXing UED team’s daily work. We will continue to explore and share more valuable design examples, applying these methods to improve ZhiXing’s products. See you next Tuesday!
