Inside Suning’s Intelligent Ops Forum: How Tech Leaders Automate and AI‑Boost Operations

On July 1, Suning Cloud Commerce IT headquarters hosted the 12th Suning Technology Exchange Day: Intelligent Operations Technology Forum, featuring experts from Alibaba, Sina Weibo, Meituan Dianping, 360, Meizu, PPD and others.

Speakers discussed automation, platformization, and intelligence in operations, covering topics such as operations platform construction, middleware ops, database ops, network automation, distributed monitoring, and network security.

Chen Jie, Director of Suning Cloud Commerce IT Headquarters highlighted the rapid evolution of operations demands—capacity forecasting, delivery speed, technology selection, efficiency, and rapid response—driven by distributed applications, monitoring systems, CMDB, ITSM, big‑data analytics, and both commercial and open‑source tools.

Chen Qingtong, Senior Technical Manager presented Suning’s operations evolution, describing the division into infrastructure, middleware, platform R&D, security, and quality management, and outlined their development direction aligned with industry stages.

He emphasized that in the AI era, intelligent operations rely on aggregating massive operational data into a big‑data platform, using modeling and algorithms for scheduling, orchestration, monitoring, alerting, fault analysis, capacity decisions, and even autonomous monitoring.

Xie Jibao, Senior Technical Expert from Alibaba compared middleware to a person’s blood and muscles, and noted challenges such as product diversity, high performance, configuration dispersion, and the need for unified operation entry, auto‑generated config files, state description, inspection, alerts, rollback, and centralized environment control.

Zuo Xingyu, Chief DBA of Meizu shared database automation practices, stressing standardization (hardware, system, config files, design) and metadata (business and management) as essential for automated and self‑service DBA workflows.

Ma Hongwei, Network Architect at 360 defined network automation as application‑driven resource orchestration achieving script, deployment, and operation automation, considering devices, planning, construction, maintenance, and personnel for robust, fast network building.

Yu Yong, Senior Technical Expert from Meituan Dianping described distributed monitoring across user, business, application, and system layers, enabling rapid fault detection, localization, and performance analysis.

Tian Guohua, Information Security Expert from PPD presented multi‑layered, depth‑defense security operations, covering fundamentals like governance, identity, data protection, logging, and automation of firewall management, IP blocking, and vulnerability scanning.
