Install WorkBuddy and Connect It to WeChat in Just 10 Minutes
This guide walks you through downloading the correct WorkBuddy installer, avoiding the CodeBuddy trap, completing a default installation with all optional tasks selected, logging into your WeChat account, configuring the WeChat Customer Service integration, and starting real‑time chats, while noting current model‑switching limitations.
Download and Install WorkBuddy
Visit the official page https://www.codebuddy.cn/work/ and click the button labelled WorkBuddy (center of the page). The top‑right download link points to a different product (CodeBuddy) and must be ignored.
Run the installer with default options. In the “Select additional tasks” screen, enable all checkboxes. This adds a right‑click “Open with WorkBuddy” entry in Windows Explorer, which is optional but convenient.
Account Login
After installation launch WorkBuddy and press Log In . A browser window opens, prompting you to select a WeChat account and authorize the application. A “Login successful” toast confirms the step.
Configure WeChat Customer Service Integration
Click your avatar in the top‑right corner, choose Claw Settings , locate the entry WeChat Customer Service Account Integration and click Configure . WorkBuddy creates a temporary binding session (displayed as “Binding…”) that finishes within a few seconds.
When binding succeeds, your WeChat avatar and nickname appear and the status changes to Bound . To switch accounts later, use the same panel to unbind and repeat the process.
Start Conversing from WeChat
Open the WeChat app, locate the chat window associated with WorkBuddy, and send a message. OpenClaw (the backend engine) replies in real time, identical to using the desktop client.
This workflow is especially efficient on mobile because WeChat remains in the background, eliminating the need to launch a separate application.
WorkBuddy also synchronizes built‑in skills plugins from the clawhub repository, providing additional commands and utilities.
Current Limitations
The underlying model is fixed to the CodeBuddy model; switching to another model is not supported.
A free quota of 5,000 tokens is provided. Once exhausted, the service stops responding unless additional credits are obtained.
