Integrating DeepSeek via Continue Plugin

Install the Continue plugin through File > Settings > Plugins (or ⌘Cmd+, on macOS), search for “Continue” and install.

Activate by adding the DeepSeek model and DeepSeek Coder in the plugin UI and entering your DeepSeek API Key, which can be created at DeepSeek API Keys .

After activation you can generate code or request explanations directly from the IDE.

Integrating DeepSeek via CodeGPT Plugin

Install CodeGPT the same way via the Plugins marketplace.

Activate it under File > Settings > Tools > CodeGPT , choose a provider (Custom OpenAI or CodeGPT), select the DeepSeek model, and configure the API Key. The API endpoint can be set manually according to the official documentation.

Once configured, CodeGPT offers real‑time code generation, testing, and explanation similar to Continue.

Note: DeepSeek’s public API may be unstable, so occasional failures are expected.
