iQIYI Technical Salon – AI Technology Practice and Application (Chengdu Session)
On August 25, iQIYI’s Chengdu R&D Center hosted its second Technical Salon, featuring talks on AI-driven content understanding for short‑video feeds, speech synthesis and editing, industry‑standard speech recognition, semantic search ranking, anti‑spam UGC text analysis, and concluding with recruitment invites and a preview of the upcoming Shanghai salon.
After the scorching summer, iQIYI Chengdu R&D Center officially opened the second iQIYI Technical Salon in Chengdu on August 25, presenting a series of AI technology practice and application talks.
Theme 1 – "The Foundation of iQIYI Short Video Feed: Content Understanding" – Technical lead Lynn shared research on content understanding, including a low‑quality content detection framework, the practical deployment and results of a dual‑channel TextCNN model, optimization of image, video, and behavior quality models to support feed services, and experiences with transfer learning for image and NLP applied to video.
Theme 2 – "AI in the Speech Domain – VocalAI" – Kevin, from the Chengdu basic algorithm team, presented achievements and insights on speech synthesis and speech editing technologies.
Theme 3 – "From Speech Interaction to Speech Interconnection" – Guest speaker Pu Songbai, head of Bitmain’s speech‑semantic team, introduced industry‑standard speech recognition and understanding solutions, product layout considerations, and Bitmain’s cloud‑plus‑edge practice.
Theme 4 – "AI Practice in iQIYI Search Ranking" – Jun, a Tsinghua graduate specializing in Learning‑to‑Rank, semantic matching, and deep semantic models, discussed the application of semantic matching in short‑text search, the evolution path of Learning‑to‑Rank models, and related techniques.
Theme 5 – "AI Practice in UGC Text Quality Analysis" – Robot from the user‑behavior analysis team described iQIYI’s anti‑spam system architecture, the evolution from a first‑generation LR model to an Attention + Bi‑LSTM model, prospects for a CW2VEC model, and the architecture and strategy of the high‑quality UGC text identification system, along with experiences in data labeling and micro‑service construction.
The event also featured on‑site photos and announced the next salon: the third iQIYI Technical Salon (Shanghai) – "High‑Performance Load Balancing Optimization Best Practices" scheduled for October 20, 2018.
Recruitment notices were included, inviting senior algorithm engineers/researchers in search/advertising/recommendation/NLP, image/video algorithm engineers, AV1 codec engineers, and big‑data developers to join iQIYI Chengdu R&D Center.
