Meituan Robotics Research Institute 2024 Call for Research Proposals
The Meituan Robotics Research Institute (MARS) is calling full‑time university scholars and researchers to submit independent research proposals for 2024 projects—selected from a predefined topic list, evaluated by Meituan and external experts on novelty, business value and feasibility, and eligible for up‑to ¥200,000 funding, on‑site interns, fast‑track graduate hiring and de‑identified data, with applications due 10 Nov 2024 and projects starting Dec 2024 or Jan 2025.
Meituan Academy of Robotics Shenzhen (MARS) was established in July 2022 and officially announced in November 2022. Leveraging Meituan’s service data and academic‑industry collaborations, the institute conducts key robotics research, drives technology innovation, and promotes the translation of results into applications.
The institute invites full‑time scholars and researchers from universities and research institutions to apply for 2024 research projects. Applicants should have independent research capability and be able to lead student teams.
Application steps: select a topic (see attachment 1), prepare a proposal using the provided template (attachment 2), and submit online via the QR‑code link.
Evaluation includes a letter review by Meituan experts and a final review by a panel of 3‑5 experts. Criteria cover academic background, topic fit, novelty, business value, and feasibility.
Project funding is up to ¥200,000, includes at least two on‑site interns, a fast‑track hiring channel for graduates, and, when appropriate, de‑identified data sets.
Key dates : Application deadline – 10 Nov 2024; Final review – end of Nov 2024; Project start – Dec 2024 or Jan 2025.
