Multi‑Cluster Delivery with ACK One GitOps: A Case Study at Wondershare Technology

Wondershare Technology, a digital creativity software provider, has rapidly expanded its global operations in the AIGC era, leading to the management of dozens of Kubernetes clusters across Alibaba Cloud (ACK) and on‑premise IDC environments.

As the number of clusters grew, the company faced several pain points: low deployment efficiency and high risk of human error when deploying applications cluster‑by‑cluster; difficulty tracking releases and performing rollbacks; and complex multi‑tenant permission management.

To solve these issues, Wondershare selected Alibaba Cloud's ACK One GitOps solution, which offers a fully managed Argo CD‑based platform for unified multi‑cluster management and continuous delivery. By registering on‑premise clusters to ACK and leveraging the ACK One fleet, the team could manage thousands of Argo CD applications and enforce RAM‑based application‑level permissions.

During implementation, the team addressed specific challenges: they switched from public‑network releases to dedicated lines to eliminate timeout problems; they tuned GitLab parameters to handle concurrent Argo CD deployments; and they limited cache updates to specific environments to reduce GitLab load during multi‑environment releases.

The results include stable, high‑performance distribution of applications across a large number of clusters, an automated delivery pipeline that triggers global deployments with a single code push, multi‑tenant isolation using Alibaba Cloud RAM, comprehensive release audit logs, one‑click rollback, and flexible gray‑release controls using Argo Rollouts and service mesh metrics.

Overall, ACK One GitOps proved to be an effective tool for implementing GitOps methodology at scale, integrating with cloud permission systems, and delivering a 50% improvement in release efficiency for Wondershare Technology.
