Huawei cloud computing expert Cai Zhiyuan and chief virtualization specialist Ding Yin shared insights on the growing demands of massive edge clouds, large‑scale cloud computing, and hybrid cloud scenarios for OpenStack. They introduced Tricircle as an OpenStack API gateway and network automation tool, Kuryr as a Neutron plugin for Docker containers, and Fuxi for integrating container storage with Cinder and Manila.

Lu Hongbin introduces OpenStack container‑related projects

Lu Hongbin, senior engineer at Huawei Canada Research Institute and PTL of the OpenStack Magnum project, presented an overview of the various OpenStack container projects, explaining their roles in the convergence of OpenStack and container technologies, and offering guidance on selecting appropriate projects for different scenarios.

In addition to the talks, Huawei demonstrated the FusionCloud solution, the enterprise‑grade open cloud operating system FusionSphere, and various Huawei cloud products and services.

Looking ahead, Huawei will continue the event on July 15 with sessions on building enterprise‑focused OpenStack public clouds, an introduction to the Compass open‑source project, database consistency solutions for large‑scale cloud clusters, and OpenStack data protection (backup and active‑active).
