Stack Overflow’s Traffic Decline Amid the Rise of ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot

In March 2023 Stack Overflow experienced a 13.9% drop in traffic, continuing a trend of roughly 6% monthly decline since January 2022. At the same time, OpenAI’s ChatGPT saw exponential growth, attracting 1.6 billion visits in March, and GitHub’s traffic rose 26.4% to 5.24 billion visits.
