Step‑by‑Step Guide to Install, Log In, and Extend WorkBuddy (Tencent’s AI Assistant)

Download and Install

Download the desktop client from https://www.codebuddy.cn/work/. Choose the package that matches your OS (Windows, macOS ARM64, or macOS x64) and run the installer.

Login

Launch WorkBuddy and scan the displayed QR code with WeChat to log in instantly.

Main Interface and Model Modes

After logging in, explore the main UI. The default model selection offers three modes:

Craft : Full permissions, can execute files and OS commands.

Plan : Read‑only file access, provides detailed action plans.

Ask : Conservative, read‑only, suitable for simple Q&A.

If you are unsure, keep the default auto setting.

Claw (Agent) Feature

Switch to the Claw tab to enter the “Tencent‑style 小龙虾” interface. The default Craft mode can access local files and execute system commands.

WeChat Customer Service Integration

To bind a WeChat customer‑service account:

Click the avatar in the top‑right corner and select Claw Settings .

Choose 微信客服号集成 and press the configuration button.

Scan the generated QR code with WeChat to bind the account.

After binding, you can issue commands to WorkBuddy directly from your phone.

Plugin System

WorkBuddy supports five plugin types:

Skill : Adds domain‑specific capabilities such as document processing, data analysis, web search, and file management.

MCP : Connects external services and data sources via the Model Context Protocol.

Hook : Executes actions automatically at specific triggers.

Agent : Provides dedicated task‑handling agents.

Rule : Defines behavior policies for WorkBuddy.

Installation steps for any plugin:

Locate the desired plugin in the list.

Click 安装 (Install).

After installation the plugin can be invoked in subsequent commands.

Example: the PPT‑generation Skill plugin automatically splits a request into eight stages and creates a 16‑page presentation.

Third‑Party Plugin Market

If built‑in plugins are insufficient, click the + button on the plugin page, enter a market URL, and install community plugins (e.g., a web‑search plugin).
