Streamline Release Approvals: DingTalk Integration for Cloud Pipelines

Many enterprises require code releases to be approved before production, which adds new requirements to CI/CD tools: the pipeline must support manual checkpoints and automatically trigger subsequent deployment after approval.

Cloud Effect Flow (云效流水线 Flow) has long supported manual checkpoint approval, offering two verification modes— or-sign (any approver can approve) and countersign (all approvers must approve)—and three validator types: members, enterprise roles, and pipeline roles. It also allows selecting specific approvers and supports notification via DingTalk, WeChat Work, and Feishu.

Previously, approvers had to log into the Cloud Effect PC console to complete approval, which was inconvenient, especially after hours or on unstable networks.

Based on user demand, Cloud Effect Flow now offers DingTalk approval. After configuring a DingTalk approval flow, approvers can simply tap on their DingTalk notification to approve, eliminating the need to open a PC client.

Three-step guide to enable DingTalk approval

Step 1: Bind your DingTalk enterprise and personal accounts.

Step 2: Add a manual checkpoint in Cloud Effect Flow and run the pipeline.

After these steps, approval messages are automatically pushed to DingTalk.
