On August 25th, Tencent Cloud Game-Tech Technical Salon was held in Beijing, bringing together Tencent Cloud experts and Layabox specialists to share mini game development technologies. The event attracted over 100 game developers and covered six major topics.
Tencent Cloud Mini Game Solutions: Tencent Game Cloud Product Director Wang Yonghe introduced the TCB platform, specifically designed for WeChat mini program/mini game development and operations. It provides development tools and PaaS services deeply integrated with WeChat client and IDE, significantly improving mini game development and operations efficiency. The platform addresses challenges related to social distribution, elastic scaling, and high concurrency requirements.
LayaAir 2.0 Engine: LayaAir partner Zhu Chunyang presented the engine's design philosophy of "simplification and extreme performance." LayaAir 2.0 features component-based architecture, visual physics system, and 3D scene editing. The 3D engine holds over 96% market share in HTML5 and mini game markets. Version 2.0 adds 150+ features including PBR materials and animation fusion, supporting FPS and high-precision 3D games. LayaCloud was also introduced, enabling frontend developers to create networked games without server deployment.
Tencent Cloud H5 Game Voice Solution: Tencent Cloud GME senior engineer Zeng Weiyi introduced the H5 real-time voice module with three key features: stable connection, excellent audio quality, and low access threshold. The solution helps enhance mini game user engagement and enables new social gaming experiences.
LayaAir 3D Engine New Features: Layabox partner Guo Lei highlighted new 3D physics, materials, and animation features. The engine offers high performance, ease of use, powerful functionality, and openness, with significant improvements in custom materials and rendering pipeline accessibility.
Tcaplus Game Storage Solution: Tencent Tcaplus senior engineer Yu Yang explained this NoSQL distributed data storage service designed specifically for games. It provides high performance while reducing costs, with features like non-stop scaling, backup disaster recovery, and fast rollback capabilities.
Development Experience Sharing: "全民打雪球" project lead Wang Song shared battle-style WeChat mini game adaptation and development experiences. Additionally, Tencent engineer Li Zesong introduced QQ "玩一玩" platform capabilities, addressing issues related to memory, gameplay, resource stuttering, large game packages, and debugging challenges.
