The Growing Demand for Test Automation Professionals and How to Prepare
The demand for skilled test automation engineers continues to rise, as companies still rely on manual and exploratory testing while increasingly automating regression, performance, and load tests, making continuous learning essential for a rewarding career in software testing.
The demand for personnel skilled in test automation will continue to grow. This is not an easy profession; for excellent automation testers, continuous learning ability is indispensable.
Most companies will continue to need manual testing. Manual testing is an important part of the testing process. In particular, exploratory testing needs to remain purely manual. However, the automated portion will increase. Regression testing as well as performance and load testing will gradually shift toward automation. Currently, many regression tests are still performed manually, which is why there is still huge growth space for automation testing. As automation tools develop, more and more tests will become automatable.
In recent years, recruiters have increasingly required test engineers to have automation testing skills. Acquiring technical and test automation skills has become a necessary competency in the industry, and companies' demand for test automation continues to rise.
Test engineers entering the test automation field need to constantly improve to keep up with evolving technologies. This is a good thing: excellent testers enjoy learning and tackling interesting challenges, which is why test automation is a very good career.
