In July 2023 Tubi announced the appointment of Anjali Sud as CEO, reinforced its position as the highest‑rated FAST service in the U.S., detailed its personalized content strategy, highlighted its data‑driven technology and ad‑tech approach, and celebrated its first Emmy nomination and industry recognitions.
Tubi recently appointed Anjali Sud as its new CEO, effective September 1, 2023. Sud, formerly CEO of Vimeo, will report directly to the Tubi Media Group CEO and aims to make Tubi the preferred platform for the next generation of viewers.
According to Nielsen’s June 2023 report, Tubi accounts for 1.4% of total U.S. monthly TV and streaming minutes, maintaining its status as the highest‑rated FAST (Free Ad‑Supported Streaming TV) service in the country.
At the FAST Festival, Chief Content Officer Adam Lewinson explained that Tubi’s success stems from shifting consumer behavior toward personalized, niche content, leveraging a library of over 50,000 titles and tools that help viewers discover what they love.
Melanie Brown, Vice President of Tubi Advanced TV, highlighted the platform’s unique DNA—personalization, data‑driven insights, and high user engagement—enabled by proprietary technology that collects feedback from more than 25 distribution platforms, allowing precise ad frequency management.
Tubi earned its first Emmy nomination for the sci‑fi series “The Nevers” and received PCMag’s Editors’ Choice award, praised for its extensive free content library, clean UI, and ability to serve both mainstream and niche audiences.
New York Times coverage noted Tubi’s distinctive role as a hub for independent Black filmmakers, emphasizing its impact on diversity and representation within the streaming ecosystem.
