WCPA 2022: 3D Human Body and Face Reconstruction Competition
The inaugural WCPA 2022 workshop and challenge, co‑organized by Alibaba Taobao Technology, HaiTian RuiSheng, the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Institute of Automation and the University of Parma at ECCV 2022, invites participants to develop multi‑view algorithms for 3D human‑body and face reconstruction using the MVP‑Human dataset, with two competition tracks, a June submission deadline, July results, and prize details provided.
The 1st International Workshop and Challenge on People Analysis (WCPA) was organized by Alibaba Taobao Technology together with HaiTian RuiSheng, the Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the University of Parma. Held at the computer‑vision conference ECCV2022, the event launched a competition on 3D human body and face reconstruction.
Background: Digital space is envisioned to bridge virtual and physical worlds, enabling immersive e‑commerce experiences through 3D reconstruction and XR technologies. Existing 3D reconstruction methods still face limitations such as single‑view input and inaccurate perspective modeling.
Competition: Two tracks are offered – a 3D human body track and a 3D face track. Participants will use the multi‑view, multi‑pose dataset MVP‑Human to develop algorithms that reconstruct canonical‑space 3D bodies and high‑precision 3D faces with pose estimation.
Schedule highlights include website launch (2022‑04‑25), registration opening (2022‑04‑27), data releases, deadline for submissions (2022‑06‑12), and result announcement (2022‑07‑03).
Prizes and contact: Detailed prize settings are provided in the original announcement. For inquiries, email [email protected] or [email protected].
Organizer: Alibaba Taobao Technology Meta Team, known for MNN, Object Drawer, and PixelAI, actively contributes to top conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, NeurIPS, and TPAMI.
