What Do 42 Companies Reveal About DevOps Maturity in China?

On October 22, 2021, the DevOps International Summit (DOIS) was held in Beijing, showcasing case studies and tool technologies from leading internet, overseas, and industry enterprises, with a focus on DevOps practices in finance, telecommunications and other sectors.

The China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) announced the 14th batch of DevOps Capability Maturity assessment results, awarding certifications to participating organizations.

Enterprises that passed the "Continuous Delivery Level 3" assessment include:

Shanghai Pudong Development Bank Co., Ltd.: Zero‑Loan Command Management Platform, Industry Customer Insight Platform, ETC Payment and Settlement Platform.

Zhengzhou Bank Co., Ltd.: Next‑generation Retail Credit System.

Haitong Securities Co., Ltd.: e‑Haitong Finance Information Center – Data Application Service System.

China Tower Co., Ltd.: Master Data Management Module.

Henan Zhongyuan Consumer Finance Co., Ltd.: New Generation Consumer Credit System.

Additional projects evaluated at the same level include the China Bank DevOps Cloud Platform (Build & CI module and Pipeline module, both rated "Excellent").

To date, 42 enterprises have collectively passed 108 projects in the DevOps Capability Maturity Model, covering Continuous Delivery Level 3, Technical Operations Level 2, Security & Risk Management Level 2, and System & Tool assessments. Four projects also achieved Continuous Delivery Level 2.

The DevOps Capability Maturity Model is a series of standards led by CAICT together with the Cloud Computing Open Source Industry Alliance, Efficient Operations Community, BATJ and major financial and telecom companies. It is the first domestic and international DevOps standard series, officially released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and adopted by many leading enterprises. The standard was also concluded by the United Nations‑affiliated standardization organization ITU‑T in July 2020, becoming the world’s first international DevOps standard.

The assessment framework includes Agile Development Management, Continuous Delivery, Technical Operations, Application Design, Security & Risk Management, and System & Tool components.
