What Do Internet Companies’ Work Hours Reveal? 2025 Ranking Highlights DJI’s No‑Overtime Policy

Today we share an important metric for evaluating companies: Internet work duration . When choosing a company, besides the total package, it’s essential to consider how humane the overtime policies are.

How is work duration calculated? It is based on weekly work hours. Legal work time is 40 hours per week. A "size‑up" schedule (often called 996) is typically counted as 60 hours per week, while the 996 model is counted as 65 hours per week. Rankings are based on the average weekly work hours from the latest year’s salary data.

The list was updated on 2025‑05‑20 and serves as a useful reference.

About a year ago, the platform added a work‑hour submission feature to its salary forms because work duration is a decisive factor when discussing compensation. After a year of data collection, the 2025 Internet Company Work‑Hour Rankings are now available.

Historically, companies like 得物, 小红书, and 拼多多 occupied the top three spots, but this year the leader is unexpectedly 大疆 (DJI).

Since February 27, 2025, DJI launched a "No Overtime" campaign. Reports state that at DJI’s Shenzhen headquarters, supervisors and HR enforce a hard stop at 9 PM, prohibiting overtime, while the Shanghai office turns off lights at 9 PM.

According to a technical department employee, the policy mandates leaving by 9 PM for health reasons, with no mandatory tasks requiring later work. This results in a daily work span of roughly 8–9.5 hours after accounting for a 1.5‑hour lunch break and a 1‑hour dinner break.

At the end of 2024, DJI announced internal cost‑optimisation measures: canceling night‑overtime taxi reimbursements, closing gym and sports facilities, and reducing team‑building budgets from January 1 2025. To offset the loss of benefits, DJI added a monthly 500 GT‑coin subsidy per employee (1 GT‑coin ≈ 1 CNY).

Despite these measures, the impact appears limited—perhaps employees still favor overtime.
