What Do the Latest DevOps Maturity Assessments Reveal About Chinese Enterprises?

Domestic and international large enterprises demonstrate that standardization and tool empowerment are crucial for success; DevOps standards and pipeline platforms can markedly improve quality, efficiency, and safety, thereby boosting market competitiveness.

On June 29, 2023, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) announced the latest evaluation results of the "R&D Operations Integration (DevOps) Capability Maturity Model" series standards.

Since the assessment began, 78 prominent companies from six state‑owned banks, joint‑stock banks, city commercial banks, internet, securities, insurance, and telecommunications sectors have participated, with a total of 224 projects evaluated.

The following charts illustrate the number of projects that passed the DevOps capability maturity assessment in each industry:

The "R&D Operations Integration (DevOps) Capability Maturity Model" series standards were jointly developed by CAICT, the Cloud Computing Open Source Industry Alliance, the Efficient Operations Community, major internet companies (BATJ), and leading financial, telecom, and other enterprises, representing the first comprehensive DevOps standards domestically and internationally.

In July 2020, the DevOps standard was officially concluded by the ITU‑T, becoming the world’s first international DevOps standard.
