What PHP Community Feedback Reveals About the Foundation’s Future Strategy

The author engaged with roughly 60 individuals from 18 countries, including community members, ecosystem practitioners, project maintainers, consultants, sponsors, core developers, leaders of other open‑source foundations, user‑group organizers, foundation staff, and board members. The purpose was to identify concrete actions that support the PHP Foundation’s mission of ensuring the long‑term prosperity of the PHP language.

Participants remain deeply passionate about PHP despite many improvement points.

Some issues lie outside the Foundation’s direct authority, but the Foundation can still offer support in certain areas.

The findings reflect respondents’ concerns, not official facts or the Foundation’s formal position.
