Grafana 10 Release Highlights

Grafana 10 has been officially released, bringing new features that improve analysis, collaboration, insight, efficiency, and dashboard aesthetics.

Correlations

Correlations extends existing data linking capabilities, allowing you to link any data source to any other data source. Define relationships between sources and, when using Explore, click the related field button to run queries across linked sources. This feature is currently in preview and should be enabled only on test or development instances.

Scenes

Scenes is a new front‑end library that enables application engineers to effortlessly create impressive dashboard experiences, including template variable support, flexible layouts, and dynamic panel rendering.

Sub‑folders

You can now create sub‑folders in Grafana to organize dashboards and alerts, making it easier to categorize resources by business unit, department, or team. Role‑based access control (RBAC) can be used to set permissions. This feature is also in preview.

Canvas Panel GA

The Canvas panel is promoted from public preview to general availability, adding enhancements such as drawing connections between elements, setting connection colors and sizes based on data, and adding data link capabilities.

New Trends Panel

The Trends panel displays trends with a numeric X‑axis instead of time, solving problems not addressed by time‑series or XY Chart panels. It can plot functions, speed/torque curves, supply/demand relationships, and more.

New Datagrid Panel

Datagrid allows you to edit data directly within a Grafana dashboard, fine‑tune data from sources, or create custom datasets for real‑time updates. It can also serve as a data source for other panels.

CSV Drag‑and‑Drop

Uploading local data is now easier with drag‑and‑drop support for CSV, Excel, and other files. Enable the feature with the toggle editPanelCSVDragAndDrop. Supported actions include dropping files onto the panel editor, replacing files, and creating a default table panel.

Easier Data‑Source Selection

The latest improvements simplify choosing the ideal data source by prioritizing recent usage, providing tags and descriptions, and offering a clear overview for quick connections.

Other Improvements

Time‑series panels now support time‑zone selection.

Dashboard annotations can be filtered to apply to all panels or selected panels.

Enhanced log context functionality for a smoother user experience.

Multiple data sources can be queried simultaneously in Explore.
