What the New Intelligent Agent Industry Map Reveals About AI’s Future
On June 16, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology released the first edition of the Intelligent Agent Industry Map, highlighting over 200 companies, detailing foundational, generic, and specialized layers, and showcasing 360’s Nano AI super‑search agent and MCP toolbox as key examples of the emerging AI‑agent ecosystem.
To organize and promote intelligent‑agent technology innovation and industry application, and to accelerate deep integration of intelligent‑agent technology with industry, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology officially released the “Intelligent Agent Industry Map 1.0” on June 16.
The map includes more than 200 enterprises focusing on intelligent‑agent technology innovation and industrial applications, with 360 (601360.SH) among the first batch selected for the foundational support development platform alongside Huawei, Alibaba, and Tencent.
The map is structured into three layers: a foundational support layer (large‑model services, development tools, communication protocols, development platforms), a generic scenario layer, and a specialized scenario layer. Selected companies provide strong data processing and reasoning capabilities, enabling agents to make precise decisions and execute tasks effectively.
360’s founder Zhou Hongyi has repeatedly emphasized that large models act like brains—capable of thinking and generating content—but lack hands and feet to use tools. Intelligent agents fill this gap, allowing full‑process automatic execution of complex tasks and proactive tool invocation, potentially surpassing SaaS by a factor of ten. In this new work mode, employees interact with agents, which in turn operate software and access websites.
Currently, 360 offers a development framework and tools for creating, managing, and deploying intelligent agents. On November 11, 360 launched the Nano AI super‑search agent, the first domestic search product built on super‑intelligent‑agent technology, which understands user intent, breaks information silos, and can invoke complex tools to deliver answers automatically, heralding the era of Search 3.0.
In April, 360 also released the “MCP Toolbox,” a universal toolset that integrates over 110 tools, allowing both developers and ordinary users to create intelligent agents, further promoting the democratization of AI applications.
