As a regular technical engineer with seven years of experience since graduating in 2014, I have been fortunate to meet mentors who taught me valuable lessons and workplace insights. Regularly align with your manager to ensure mutual understanding of expectations. Communicate thoughtfully, avoid unnecessary interruptions, and when you become a manager, hold one‑on‑ones with team members to listen and provide dialogue opportunities.

In an information‑rich world, filter inputs wisely and maintain a clear personal direction. Avoid being swayed by others, and deepen your understanding of the problems you aim to solve before jumping to solutions.

Consistently document insights—whether through PPTs or notes—covering both technical architectures and personal reflections. Effective summarization helps clarify core issues and prevents vague, unfocused presentations.

Beyond ideas, immerse yourself in the details of implementation. This reveals hidden challenges and ensures solutions are practical, while avoiding over‑analysis that stalls progress.

Soft skills such as presentation ability, emotional intelligence, and empathy often determine one’s ceiling. Effective cross‑team collaboration may hinge on simple gestures like sharing a meal, and empathetic communication helps others accept your proposals.
