Audio/Video and Integrated Communication Technology Salon – Technical Sessions Overview

On June 29, the Audio/Video and Integrated Communication Technology Salon organized by Tencent Cloud concluded successfully in Beijing, attracting more than 300 on‑site participants and live‑streaming the event.

The salon featured five technical sessions delivered by Tencent Cloud experts, covering practical solutions and best practices in the fields of live streaming, P2P acceleration, overseas live‑stream architecture, real‑time audio/video integration with PSTN, and audio/video AI applications.

Session 1 – Mobile Live Streaming Interconnection Practices Speaker: Jiang Lei (Senior Engineer). He described four major challenges in interactive live streaming—latency, echo, mixed‑stream handling, and room management—and presented concrete solutions such as MLVBLiveRoom, TRTC low‑latency large‑room, and LiteAV architecture.

Session 2 – Tencent Cloud Live PCDN Acceleration Solution Speaker: Zhang Peng. He explained why P2P is needed for video delivery, the underlying P2P technology (data node consistency, NAT traversal, network topology, and data transmission), and how Tencent Cloud X‑P2P reduces bandwidth cost, improves latency, and prepares for future 4K/5G/IPv6 scenarios.

Session 3 – Overseas Live‑Streaming System Architecture and Best Practices Speaker: Hu Rencheng (Senior Engineer). He divided overseas live streaming into three layers—application software, media distribution infrastructure, and cross‑region optimization—detailing the specific problems encountered at each layer and the corresponding design solutions.

Session 4 – Real‑Time Audio/Video and PSTN Integration Speaker: Yan Xuewei (Senior Engineer). He discussed the motivation for integrating VoIP with PSTN, two integration approaches, and the need for an adaptation layer handling signaling and media streams. He also covered latency reduction techniques, server placement strategies, and reliability measures such as ARQ, FEC, and redundant deployment.

Session 5 – Audio/Video AI Technology Implementation Speaker: Sun Xiangxue. He introduced three AI‑enhanced video solutions: ultra‑high‑definition bitrate reduction, cloud‑based video editing (cloud‑cut), and the “ZhiMou” intelligent recognition platform. Use cases include media asset management, video recommendation, live‑stream moderation, large‑scale video audit, and real‑time subtitle generation.

The event concluded with a raffle, photo session, and an invitation to the next salon on July 27 in Shenzhen, focusing on IoT technology and applications.
