FinOps Unveiled: Key Takeaways from China’s First FinOps Salon
The inaugural FinOps salon held on September 24, 2021 in Beijing, organized by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology with support from the FinOps industry alliance and the Linux Foundation, gathered over 80 experts from academia, finance, and leading cloud providers to share assessments, award ceremonies, new member inductions, and cutting‑edge practices on cloud cost management and financial operations.
On September 24, 2021, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) hosted the first FinOps themed salon, "Focusing on New Areas—Enterprise FinOps Journey," at the Beijing Weishi International Cultural Exchange Center, supported by the FinOps industry promotion alliance and the Linux Foundation.
Experts from CAICT, Renmin University, China Construction Bank, China Mobile Research Institute, Alibaba Cloud, and Tencent Cloud presented on FinOps topics, with more than 30 enterprises and around 80 specialists participating.
Dr. He Baohong, Director of the Cloud Computing and Big Data Research Institute at CAICT, delivered the opening remarks and announced the first batch of cloud cost‑management platform assessment results:
