How to Choose the Right Huawei IoT Integration Path for Modules, Devices, and Users

Stakeholder Overview

The device integration process involves three user types: module manufacturers who provide Wi‑Fi, NB‑IoT, 2/3/4G communication modules; device manufacturers who develop and sell the final products and need to integrate them with the Huawei IoT platform; and device users who purchase and manage the devices.

Module Manufacturer Guidance

Module manufacturers should embed the Agent Tiny SDK into their firmware to support MQTT, LWM2M, CoAP and obtain Huawei IoT certification, enabling the module to be listed on Huawei Cloud Marketplace.

Agent Tiny SDK is universal and can be ported to Wi‑Fi, 2/3/4/5G, and NB‑IoT modules without regard to module type.

Device Manufacturer Guidance

Device manufacturers need to perform integration development so that their devices can connect to the IoT platform. Huawei provides certification support and marketplace listing for certified devices.

Based on whether a device has IP capability, two main access methods are described: direct platform access and gateway‑based access.

Solution 1 – Direct Access via LiteOS

Devices with RAM > 32 KB and Flash > 128 KB can integrate Huawei LiteOS, which includes the Agent Tiny SDK, to achieve secure connection to the IoT platform.

LiteOS is a BSD‑3 licensed lightweight OS for smart home, wearables, automotive, public services, and manufacturing.
