How to Unbind Your Former Company’s WeChat Mini‑Program Developer Account

Background

When logging into a personal mini‑program, many leftover mini‑programs from the previous employer still appear, and repeated requests to the former company for unbinding receive no response.

Administrator Unbinding

Administrators cannot unbind the account on their own; the WeChat mechanism requires the account to have an administrator, so a replacement (a "hand‑over" person) must be found.

Developer Unbinding

Non‑admin developers can perform the unbinding themselves without needing a replacement. The process uses the WeChat service account "Public Platform Security Assistant".

Specific Steps

Search Account

Open the WeChat service account "Public Platform Security Assistant" and enter it.

Find WeChat Bound Account

Tap "Binding Query" → "WeChat Bound Account" to view the list of bound public accounts, mini‑programs, and open platforms.

Unbind
