How Zhejiang Mobile Leveraged DevOps Standards to Accelerate Digital Transformation

On September 25, 2020, the 14th GOPS Global Operations Conference, guided by the Open Source Cloud Alliance (OSCAR) and co‑hosted by GreatOPS and OOPSA, was held in Shenzhen. It is the first and largest operations‑focused summit in China, attracting thousands of professionals from internet, finance, and telecom sectors to share advanced technologies and best practices.

During the conference, the DevOps Standard System and Tool assessment results were announced. Zhejiang Mobile’s "Fengyun Energy Efficiency Platform" passed the first‑batch evaluation of the "Research‑Operations Integration (DevOps) Capability Maturity Model" conducted by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), earning an "Excellent" rating for its Build and Continuous Integration module, indicating a leading domestic level.

In an interview, Fu Chengyan, Head of R&D Efficiency at Zhejiang Mobile, expressed pride in being among the first enterprises to receive the award. He highlighted that DevOps provides a solid theoretical foundation for digital transformation, improving delivery speed and quality, and creating space for experimentation and innovation that drives new markets and value‑oriented exploration.

Fu also noted that the assessment process revealed internal gaps, but the standards and guidance from CAICT experts helped the team grow. Looking ahead, Zhejiang Mobile plans to enhance the completeness of its DevOps toolchain, raise overall DevOps capabilities, and apply DevOps methodology to empower a broader audience, promoting a democratic and people‑centric approach to digital transformation.
