DB‑Engines has updated its October popularity ranking, based on September’s overall data changes.

The top‑10 databases remain unchanged from the previous month: Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, IBM Db2, Elasticsearch, SQLite and Cassandra. MySQL and PostgreSQL showed notable score increases of 7.24 and 9.47 points respectively.

The three leading databases all experienced a significant year‑over‑year score decline, continuing a downward trend for the traditional “big three.”

Snowflake also improved, gaining 6.19 points and moving from rank 21 to rank 18, entering the top 20.
