IBM launches new tools to help enterprises scale AI agents

At the IBM THINK conference earlier this week, IBM announced updates to help address challenges of scaling AI agents.

New agent capabilities in WatsonX Orchestrate include:

New tools for integrating, customizing, and deploying agents

Prebuilt domain agents for HR, sales, and procurement

Integrations with over 80 enterprise applications such as Adobe, AWS, Microsoft, Oracle, Salesforce Agentforce, SAP, ServiceNow, and Workday

Agent orchestration for complex projects that require coordination among multiple agents and tools, e.g., workflow planning and task routing

Observability throughout the agent lifecycle

IBM also announced an agent directory for easier access to IBM and partner agents.

Anthropic adds web‑search capability to its API

The new feature lets developers build applications and agents that can retrieve and provide up‑to‑date insights.

Anthropic explains that when Claude receives a request that may benefit from fresh information, it decides whether to use the web‑search tool, generates a targeted query, extracts key information from results, and returns a comprehensive answer with citations.

Amazon Q Developer gets a new agent‑coding experience in VS Code

Amazon announced that Amazon Q Developer now offers an interactive coding experience in Visual Studio Code, built on existing prompt‑based features. The experience provides a real‑time collaborative partner that can write code, create documentation, run tests, and review changes.

Google releases Gemini 2.5 Pro preview

The update improves coding performance, especially for code translation and building agent workflows.

Google says the preview addresses developer feedback by reducing function‑call errors and increasing function‑call trigger rates.

HCL launches a new AI agent orchestration platform

HCL Universal Orchestrator (UnO) Agentic is a workflow‑orchestration platform that coordinates AI agents, bots, systems, and humans. Built on HCL’s Universal Orchestrator, it adds AI capabilities to insert agents into critical business processes.

HCL Software’s chief product officer Kalyan Kumar says UnO reshapes collaboration between humans and intelligent systems, shaping the future of enterprise operations.

DigitalOcean introduces NVIDIA GPU Droplets

GPU Droplets now offer NVIDIA RTX 4000 Ada, RTX 6000 Ada, and L40S GPUs, providing affordable GPU resources for AI workloads.

DigitalOcean’s chief product and technology officer says the offering makes it easier for organizations to build, scale, and deploy AI solutions on NVIDIA hardware.

Yellowfin 9.15 released

The BI platform adds AI‑powered natural language query (AI NLQ) so users can ask questions of their data.

Other updates include expanded REST API, enhanced bar and column chart customization, simpler year‑over‑year comparisons, stricter default controls for data security, and support for writable ClickHouse data sources.
