OpenAI introduced “Your Year with ChatGPT”, an automated annual report that summarizes a user’s interactions with ChatGPT over the past 12 months.
How to Generate the Report
In the ChatGPT app (web or mobile) type the exact phrase Show me my year with ChatGPT. The request is processed and a personalized HTML page is returned.
Available to free, Plus and Pro accounts. Enterprise accounts are excluded from the rollout.
The feature is currently being tested in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Metrics Reported
Total number of messages the user sent.
Total number of distinct conversation threads started.
Date of the most active day (highest message count).
Count of em‑dashes (—) used across all prompts.
Chat‑style Analysis
The system evaluates the user’s prompting style, including tone, level of detail, and typical phrasing patterns, and presents a brief textual description.
Annual Award
Based on the style analysis the user receives a playful “award” that resembles a personality tag. The most common tag is “The Engineer”, assigned to roughly 19 % of users. The description emphasizes designing reliable, executable systems and using ChatGPT to plan workflows and step‑by‑step solutions.
Visualisation and Interaction
The report includes a retro‑style pixel‑art illustration generated for the user’s year. At the bottom of the page a simple “wipe the fog” mini‑game overlays a snowy‑like mask; clearing the mask with the mouse reveals an AI‑generated prediction for the user’s 2026.
