On April 28, IDC released its “China Automotive Cloud Market (2024 H2) Tracking” report, indicating that the market reached 65.1 billion RMB in the second half of 2024, a 27.4% year‑over‑year increase.

The report also shows that the total size of the autonomous‑driving R&D solution market for 2024 is projected to be 16.34 billion RMB, up 18.42% YoY. Baidu Intelligent Cloud leads this segment with a 5.64 billion RMB revenue, representing a 34.51% market share.

Analyst Chen Qijin explains that intense competition in autonomous‑driving solutions is driven by Baidu’s deep industry experience and enterprise‑level offerings, focusing on major OEMs and Tier‑1 suppliers, which has restored its top‑ranking position.

The shift to an AI‑powered driving era is accelerating the convergence of high‑performance computing infrastructure, algorithms, and data. OEMs and suppliers are scaling up compute clusters, building new algorithmic architectures, and expanding simulation testing, pushing compute spending toward the hundred‑million‑RMB and 10 EFLOPS scale.

According to the analyst, continuous technology iteration, fierce competition, and growing demand for autonomous‑driving solutions—combined with rapid vehicle‑to‑network integration and innovative V2X scenarios—are fueling increased investment and long‑term growth potential for automotive cloud services.

Baidu Intelligent Cloud has responded by launching version 3.0 of its automotive‑cloud solution, offering robust compute power, precise algorithm adaptation, high‑quality simulation environments, and vehicle‑road collaboration capabilities, with a particular focus on end‑to‑end intelligent driving.

Currently, Baidu’s cloud services cover all of the top‑15 sales brands and the top‑10 new‑energy manufacturers in China, achieving a 95% penetration rate among mainstream OEMs.
