DSReg Makes JEPA World Models Interpretable: Each Latent Dimension Maps to a Real-World Variable

Researchers from UIUC, Cold Spring Harbor Lab, Brown University, and MPI propose DSReg, a post-hoc rotation method that aligns each dimension of a pre-trained JEPA's latent space with a distinct real-world variable — such as sun position, temperature, or wind — without reconstruction, decoders, or labels, while preserving predictive performance.
